Dear ISAE Members,

The ISAE EDI Committee is looking for members to volunteer as allies to ensure that the 2025 ISAE Congress is an enjoyable and safe event for everyone.

The aim of having allies is to explicitly provide designated safe people to talk to about any aspects of the conference that delegates have concerns over. These concerns could be linked to any aspect of equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion. The ally role is entirely voluntary; there is no reimbursement for being an ally, and there are no targets or measures associated with it. The EDI Committee will provide training to the volunteer allies before the Congress. To be an ally, you must attend the Congress in person.

Please note that an ally is not expected to:
• To solve problems on the spot.
• Police the event, it is an entirely passive role.
• Deal with issues that are not directly related to the conference.
• Engage in any discriminatory behaviour themselves.
